Open Day at the BMWA

The aim of the exhibition was to present to the public some of the German economics ministry’s most innovative projects. The exhibition was organised as part of the ministry’s 2004 ‘open day’. The ministry-supported projects were divided into three groups: trade, crafts and production; aeronautics, transport and communications; sport and medicine. Together these reflected the many and varied sides to the German economy. The ministry supplied the exhibits, including an Olympic two-man bobsleigh, a glider, pilot’s cockpit and training cockpit. The ministry also provided the photographs.

Exhibition Design

A beautiful landscape scene was chosen as the motive for the main presentation module. The module’s spherical segments were used for the exhibits and also as pedestals, showcases and the display of graphics. The flexible modular arrangement met the many client requirements. A colour coding was used to distinguish the different fields. The module was specifically designed to be easily dismantled. Its swift and easy reassembly was facilitated by its extreme lightness and compactness.
